Job Description

The Oregon Aviation Historical Society is seeking a qualified, part-time Museum Assistant to act as a docent and provide clerical work.  This role will be responsible for a variety of administrative tasks.  Interest in aviation or general history and experience in non-profit is a plus, but not required.  Other duties includes, but are not limited to:

  • Welcome visitors and act as docent during museum hours

  • QuickBooks desktop proficiency for full-charge bookkeeping, maintain financial record and budgeting

  • Clerical tasks such as preparing documents, updating Google database records for membership and handling correspondence

  • Operating online point-of-sale system for gift shop and donations

  • Maintain membership and donor records

  • Attend and take minutes at quarterly Board meetings

  • Support marketing and communication efforts, GoDaddy website, Facebook and Instagram

  • Assist with museum displays and organization

  • Collaborate with Board to plan events throughout the year

  • Work Saturdays, as needed, for events and meetings

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.

  • Proficient in QuickBooks desktop

  • Graphic design a plus

  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365

  • Non-profit experience a plus

  • Interest in aviation or history in general, a plus

  • Flexible with schedule

Hours per week: (24) Tuesday-Friday 10:00am-4:00pm and some Saturday events during the summer. $19.00 per hour.  No benefits.
