Event Description:
South Lane Mental Health's Mental Health Awareness Month Speaker Series continues: Positive parenting practices help improve childhood outcomes and experiences, yet there are major obstacles to the effective delivery of support for caregivers, particularly in rural areas. The Internet offers new avenues for communicating and sharing ideas as well as offering mental health services and other supports to parents. Explore how the Internet is incorporated into the delivery of evidence-based assistance to hard-to-reach populations. Dr. Ed Feil, a Senior Research Scientist at Oregon Research Institute, has authored papers and chapters on early intervention assessment methodology, interactive Internet interventions, and early child psychopathology.
