The official opening and dedication of the newly reconstructed J. Polk Currin Swinging Bridge will take place on Saturday, Nov, 30, starting at 10am. Assemble on the west (River Road) side. There will be speeches by the Mayor and city officials, members of the community and historical groups. A plaque will be unveiled and the ribbon cut to celebrate the 3 year process to replace the 1965 version closed for safety reasons. Parking is limited so plan on carpooling, walking, biking or using the eastside neighborhood for parking (Madison Ave.)
