Event Description:
Drowned Towns - With Progress, sometimes comes pain! The residents of the Willamette Valley had to put up with regular flooding costing crops, bridges, roads, and plenty of buckaroos. In the 1940's the WPA and the Army Corps had a plan, build a series of flood control dams. Great! only some times the best place, logisitically speaking was where there was already a settlement. Cottage Grove Librarian, Natascha Chitow and Springfield Museum's Maddi McGraw will be sharing about the now underwater towns Hebron/Cottage Grove Reservoir along with the towns covered by Lookout Point Lake (Carter, Reserve, Eula/Blakelyville, and Landax/Signal). Per usualHistory Pub will feature Trivia, 50/50 raffle, Fun, fellowship, and an informative talk all with the ambiance of the Axe and Fiddle. History Pubs are sponsored and presented by Cottage Grove Partners in History
