CALLING ALL BIRDERS!
Join the Coast Fork Birders for the 20th Cottage Grove Christmas Bird Count! All levels of bird enthusiasts are encouraged to take part in this great community science effort while learning from experienced birders. Be sure to bring your birding gear, weather appropriate clothing and lunch to get you through the day.

WHAT-
The CBC is an annual census of birds conducted in winter by volunteer birdwatchers and administered by the National Audubon Society. The CBC is the longest-running community science survey in the world. You can learn more about the CBC here.
WHY-
The purpose is to provide population data for use in science, especially conservation biology, though many people participate for recreation.
WHERE-
This event is coordinated by Grace Fowler-Gore and each count section will be led by a Coast Fork Birders member. Participants will gather at 6:30am at the Vintage Inn Restaurant, 1590 Gateway Blvd, Cottage Grove, for a morning breakfast meeting to organize into teams. Birders will head into the field by 7:30am. The end of day “countdown” will take place at 4pm at El Tapatio Mexican Restaurant & Cantina, 725 E. Gibbs Ave., Cottage Grove. Feel free to reach out to Grace with any questions or concerns.
