Cottage Grove Librarian Natasha Chitow and Maddi McGraw of the Springfield Museum present "Drowned Towns." With progress sometimes comes pain. The Willamette River regularly causing flooding in valley towns was taken on in the 1940's by the US Army Corps of Engineers, constructing a series of dams with the goal of Flood Control Sometimes the best place for a dam was where a town had existed. Locally this cost the long-term residents of Dorena and Hebron their homesteads. As usual History Pub will feature Trivia, 50/50 raffle, Fun, fellowship, and an informative talk all with the ambiance of the Axe and Fiddle.
